Athens International Airport (AIA) conducts e-Mobility Study
Athens International Airport (AIA) recently conducted a study to improve their vehicle fleet by switching to electric and creating a charging infrastructure. The study also explored funding opportunities and considered CO2 emissions and the changing needs of the airport fleet and personal vehicles.
The outcome of the study proposed new fleet specifications and investment costs for 20 years. It also recommended charger types, capacity, location, and charging spot design for 700 chargers. The study examined the airport’s power network and proposed equipment, personnel requirements, and safety measures to upgrade the existing electric vehicle unit.
Now that the study is complete, the airport will proceed with the implementation of the proposed plans
