Stargate Website Privacy Statement

1.  Introduction

This privacy notice (“Privacy Statement”) governs the processing of your personal data as a part of your use of our Website (the “Website”) and the accompanying services (jointly referred to hereinafter as “Services”). This processing is performed by Brussels Airport Company NV (hereinafter: “Brussels Airport”) as data controller, with registered office at Boulevard Auguste Reyerslaan 80, 1030 Brussels, Belgium (“we”, “our“), listed with the CBE (Crossroads Bank for Enterprises) under number 0890.082.292.

Brussels Airport highly values your privacy and aims to protect your personal data in accordance with (i) the General Data Protection Regulation of 25 May 2018 – the “GDPR”, (ii) the Belgian Act of 30 July 2018 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and (iii) Brussels Airport’s Privacy Statement.

As part of the Stargate website, Brussels Airport processes certain personal data. The types of personal data being processed as part of Stargate and the conditions under which such personal data are being processed, are further clarified in this Stargate Website Privacy Statement. The conditions of this Stargate Website Privacy Statement apply in addition to the Brussels Airport’s Privacy Statement. In the event of any inconsistency between Brussels Airport’s Privacy Statement and the Stargate Website Privacy Statement, the terms of this Stargate Website Privacy Statement will take precedence. Any capitalised terms not defined herein shall have the meaning ascribed to them in the Brussels Airport Privacy Statement.

2.  Processing of personal data under Stargate

2.1. Greendealstargate.eu is a publicly available online information project website. Any User can visit the website without being required to identify itself. Website visitors

When you are only visiting the website, Brussels Airport will process certain of your personal data.  These so-called “cookies” or similar technologies are used as part of the Website and/or the Services. Cookies are small text files that are stored on the hard drive of a device and that contain certain information, which sometimes includes personal data. 2.2. Newsletter

a)       Types of personal data and purposes

When you subscribe for our newsletter on the website, you will provide the following personal data: email address, name, country and company on the website.  We will only use these in order to send you the latest news and updates on the Stargate project.

b)       Retention Period

This personal data will be retained for a period of maximum 5 years from the moment of subscription, aligned with the lifespan of the Stargate project (2021-2026). After expiration of this term, all such information will be made anonymous or deleted completely. You can always unsubscribe from the newsletter(s) via the link at the bottom of each newsletter or via the link on our website.

 

2.3. Contact form

a)   Types of personal data and purposes

When filling in the contact form on the website, you enter the following personal data: name, e-mail address, company, country and your question or message.

We only use this information to respond as appropriately as possible to your question or complaint. In addition, we may use your e-mail address to send out surveys to improve our service.

b)   Retention period

The information you send us via the contact form or as part of questions or complaints will be kept for as long as it is necessary to be able to fully answer and process the form or the content of your e-mail.

 

3.  Sharing personal data as part of the Stargate website

3.1. Personal Data shared with 3rd Party Service Providers

In order to provide the Stargate website, Brussels Airport makes use of services offered by third party providers, including but not limited to IT providers providing hosting services, IT platforms, telecommunications services etc.  You hereby agree that Brussels Airport is entitled to provide your personal data to such providers for the performance of their services or tasks within the framework of the Stargate website.

Such service providers are in any case bound to treat your Personal Data in accordance with the provisions of this Privacy Statement. We cannot, however, be held liable for any damage, direct or indirect, that may result from the misuse of your Personal Data by such service providers.

In some exceptional cases, Brussels Airport may transfer your Personal Data to and/or store your Personal Data in countries outside the European Economic Area. In such cases, however, we guarantee that the transfer is carried out in accordance with relevant legal requirements and we ensure that the third country can guarantee an appropriate level of protection of your Personal Data. If necessary, the appropriate data transfer agreements shall be concluded.

Nothing contained herein limits or prevents Brussels Airport from disclosing your personal data to the competent authorities further to the request of such competent authorities.

4.  Your personal data rights

As a Data Subject, in accordance with the applicable data protection legislation and if applicable, you have the following rights with regards to (the processing of) your Personal Data:

  • Right of access to your Personal Data;
  • Right to correct your (inaccurate) Personal Data;
  • Right to delete your Personal Data;
  • Right to restrict data Processing;
  • Right to object to data Processing;
  • Right to transfer data;
  • Right not to be subject to automated individual decision-making, including profiling;
  • Right to file a complaint with the Supervisory Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit).

Brussels Airport may change this Privacy Statement at any time in the future. Such changes will be published here. We therefore recommend that you check this page regularly for updates.
