Taxibot: pioneering clean and quiet taxiing solutions for aviation.

07.06.2024

Using a Taxibot during taxiing has proven to significantly reduce noise and Ultrafine Particles (UFP) pollution near the aircraft. Recent testing by VITO, an independent Flemish research organization specializing in cleantech and sustainable development, demonstrated a notable decrease in UFP pollution and noise when a Boeing 737-800 was taxied using a Taxibot.

Reduction of UFP.

The concentration of UFP on the taxiway was found to be 90% lower when using a Taxibot compared to taxiing with the aircraft’s engines. This reduction is also applied to small-diameter UFPs , which are known to pose significant health risks.

Decrease in noise pollution.

Additionally, there was a significant decrease in noise pollution, with an average 10 dB reduction leading to a 50% decrease in noise and a 90% decrease in emitted acoustic energy.

These findings highlight the importance of testing the Taxibot and its contribution to a more sustainable future for aviation.
