Stargate General Assembly in Athens

On Tuesday, 27 May, Athens served as the location for Stargate’s seventh General Assembly. This event brought together consortium partners from across the European Union for a day of conferences, discussions, and collaboration

Workshop on IES’ Digital Twin

Complementing the General Assembly, a two-part workshop was conducted focusing on IES’ Digital Twin. This in-depth session was attended by many participants, including the fellow airports Brussels Airport, Athens International Airport, Budapest Airport and Toulouse Blagnac Airport, and took place on the day prior to the General Assembly and continued on the day following the main event. This allowed for dedicated discussions on this innovation.

A lively General Assembly

Activities commenced before the main Assembly following IES’ workshop with a tour of the Acropolis and a nice dinner with a view, as a way to debrief on the workshop and build up expectations for the upcoming discussions among Stargate partners.

On Tuesday, the participants received an update on Stargate’s activities, then the General Assembly primarily focused on examining how success can be defined for the various initiatives within the consortium. As part of this, participants were separated into groups to discuss the estimated impacts of the projects and how to measure these impacts.

The afternoon was dedicated to thematic sessions on Mobility, Energy, Testbed and Alternative fuels. During the presentations, partners engaged in lively discussions, shared expertise, and collaborated to set directions for future innovation.

As a conclusion to the day, the partners enjoyed a guided walking tour, followed by an all-partners dinner.

The Seventh General Assembly in Athens facilitated necessary discussions and collaboration, contributing to the ongoing progress of the Stargate programme. The event provided an opportunity to align on objectives and plans for upcoming activities. The outcomes of these interactions will be integrated into future project phases.
